[ Read the rest ... ] Comment(s): 0 July 10 MC Meeting Attendance was down somewhat this meeting, but we agreed to an August 2 meeting of the bylaws committee to revue the bylaws in preparation for a vote. This has been long overdue and will be addressed finally. The next discussion was the Sierra Fall Rally and we voted the MC will donate two hundred fifty to help sponsor this event. The last discussion was the Main Chapter picnic and it was decided that no Scouts West funds will be used for this event. At first it was agreed that everone in attendance donate ten dollars for food, but two members volunteered to handle this with their own funds. This event will take place July 27 at Bolsa Chica State Beach all are welcome to attend just bring some type of food for your own family and others. The main dish is covered by the volunteers. [Submitted by Wendell] Comment(s): 0 IH Sierra Fall Rallye IH Only North of Loomis CA, in conjunction with NorCal Scouts and Scouts West, presentsThe 2nd ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER SIERRA FALL RALLYE As with it's inaugural year, the Rallye will be returning to Lake Francis Resort at Dobbins, CA, the weekend of October 10-12, 2008. The resort is located between Marysville and Grass Valley. Lake Francis Resort is operated by a non-profit organization providing services to foster children in Northern California. Flyer To those of you who attended and/or supported the first Rallye… a big THANK YOU. Because of your participation, a first-time gathering of International Harvester trucks in northern California went way beyond it’s initial expectations of a handful of local sponsors and maybe 15-20 trucks. By closing, we counted 42 IH vehicles and had sponsor representation from many IH dealers nationwide…not bad. This year, the Rallye will relocate from the courtyard area to it’s new home turf; the large open meadow behind the gazebo. Remember, the gazebo is where we had dinner. Being out in the open space is ideal for us and our Saturday activities. Of course, there will still be the Saturday night BBQ dinner – Sunday morning breakfast – Friday trail rides – Saturday show’n’shine – People’s Choice award – raffle – camping – the lake. Everybody liked that, it was a nice touch. Realizing the success of the Rallye from last year, we made it a little better this year. A mini-Rubicon will be jointly constructed between NorCal Scouts and a crew from Lake Francis Resort, so bring the wheeler, AND Scouts West sponsoring a continental breakfast and chili-dog lunch on Saturday, AND Michael, Kathy and the guys from IHSTO will be on board Sunday morning sharing some of the breakfast cooking duties with their famous, or is that infamous flapjacks. Between the resorts amenities, the food, Scouts, games, trail rides, the rockpile and a mellowing evening campfire, there’s plenty to do on Saturday. Oh yeah, the band -- Mad Dash-- will be playing Saturday afternoon during show’n’shine and “playtime”. For those of you who remember last year's show, see why the field would be the perfect place for our Rallye? It's time to pass the word. One last party before winter sets in. If you enjoyed yourself at last year’s show and would like attend your second Rallye, a PDF of the pre-registration [ & sponsor ] form follows. If you would like to experience the Rallye first hand and want more information, please download the 3-PDF’s of the registration, flyer and sponsor forms that follow.
